About TPU

Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) is a type of block copolymer comprising hard segments synthesized by the reaction between diisocyanate and short-chain glycol and soft segments made of polyol components. As well as manifesting extremely high physical properties through physical cross-linkage realized by intermolecular hydrogen bonding in urethane bonds, TPU is capable of handling a wide range of hardness due to the proportions of its soft and hard segments.
Furthermore, TPU is divided into small categories such as polyester TPU, polyether TPU, and polycaprolactone TPU according to the structure of the soft segment.
